Just a Waggin' Weekend!

Hi...it's me...Murphy!
Like you didn't already know it would be me!   Murphy!

It's been a tail waggin' weekend!   The weather is perfect here and I've been out and about!

Pack Leader feels this picture captures my perfectness.  We were working on my training at the tennis court when I dropped my tennis ball to watch a big bird soar in the blue sky.   My humans call these birds an Airbus.   All I know is that they are so much fun to watch!  So fascinating.....to even drop my pink tennis ball.
I love to go for walks on the trails, but I really REALLY like the Nature Preserve.   I'd like it better if I could jump in the water....but my human's don't want to be embarrassed when the man with the patch on his shirt delivers them something called a fine.   BOL!

These big birds are called Canadian Geese.  They are humongous!!!  I know one day I'll be bigger ...but today I just watched as they floated in the water  that I wanted to be in  and they would honk so loud my ears perked up.  I looked at Pack Leader and she had this strange look on her face - but then I remembered she's afraid of anything with wings!    BOL!   There were sea gulls and I even got to see Mr. & Mrs. Mallard again.   They didn't stay around long because that family from Canada were taking over the entire island where all the ducks and geese hang out.  I think they were having a family meeting.

This is me and my Forever Human working on "leave it".   My training is coming along....but I'm easily distracted.   I hear whispers from my humans....they say things like "Nosey Rosey" and "Busy Body".   Hey....I'm a Golden!    We are genetically ALL nosey!
But when I hear "PUPPY,PUPPY,PUPPY!"  I come running like lightening!    And then I get the best two treats....my Salmon kibble treat and a super size hug from Forever Human!!

I kiss my Forever Human so much sometimes she can't stop giggling and she gets the hick-ups!

I think I'll keep her forever.

My adventures never stop!   I get to meet so many people and other dogs.  Sometimes I meet very friendly dogs who want to walk with me, and sometimes I meet grumpy dogs and their humans.   I'm not sure if the humans are grumpy, we never stick around to find out!
I met a new friend today.   Her name is Gracie and she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix.  Wow...she has quite the royalty in her name!
Gracie is a one year old rescue, and she is very cute and friendly.  She has freckles on her face that look like little brown polka-dots.

My human and her human were talking about us as we got to know one another.   Gracie is very petite and lady-like.  I must remember not to sit on her like I do my Boxer friend Farle.
Pack Leader said it's not polite to sit on any of my friends.  Except my brother Cash, and my boy cousins, Max & Marley!       BOL!

I'm getting very sleepy.... until next time!

Murphy

Hello...it's me...not Adele

Hello...it's me... Murphy!   I just can't stop wagging my tail at all the fun adventures I've been having.
I'm turning 13 weeks on Tuesday, and for only living my entire life of 13 weeks....I've been a very busy Golden pup!

See that little ray of sunshine in the photo with me?   That's my Forever Human and she and I go together like peas & carrots!   Forever Human is forever telling me how much she loves me.  And that she is such a lucky girl because some of her friends do not have a dog.  Or a cat.  Oh, geez...did she need to bring up Sassy Cat?   That's ok...I kinda like that sassy feline.  She just gets a little diva-like now and then.   I'll loosen her up one of these days.  I must catch her first!
Forever Human teaches me patience too.  I get so excited when she comes home from school. But I must sit and wait until she comes in my area to play with me.  It's soooooo hard!!   I wiggle in my fur just for her to give me lovin!   But when I do sit and wait patiently...she rewards me with a treat.  And the best treat is when she is playing with me.   I retrieve my hedgehog or a tennis ball for her.   And she makes such a big deal that I can retrieve a ball in my mouth, slobber on it and bring it back to her hand!   Humans are so funny sometimes.

See!   See my pretty sit and wait!

And then after we play....we rest and talk.  Well, she talks.... I listen and wag my tail.  A lot!

I went to visit my cousin Max and Auntie Aprel.  Max is a Golden Glory too!  Max is 9 months old.  He likes to watch TV and watch humans out the big window at his house.   I think Max is under the impression that all these humans are coming to visit him.  But they just keep walking past.  Why wouldn't they visit?  Don't humans know that we Golden Retrievers long for them to give us attention?!   Besides squirrels and ducks....people are the top on our list of things to drool on and sit on and love on!    Max and I played in his house, and I took over his bouncy ball.  I also took over his water bowl and  his human.   Auntie Aprel didn't seem to mind.   BOL!    They bought me a new Mrs. Hedgehog.  Now the Mr. isn't lonely anymore.  Well, most of the time he's in my mouth, but now I can chew on his wife.   Thank you Max & Aprel!!!!!

Oh. My.  Paws!    I love it when my humans give me a pawdicure.
Sometimes I see Pack Leader sneaking my PET HEAD Paw Butter on her hands.  She likes the smell of it.   I told you humans have silly ways.

I took my humans to DC so we could visit another cousin named Marley.   He is a Golden Glory too!   Marley is 10 months old.  He's quite the athlete.  He was retrieving the tennis ball for my Forever Human, just like I do.  Except he's a lot faster than I am!  For now.   While Marely and I played in the yard, our humans ate something called pizza.  Uncle Michael made it all by himself and I watched - I don't think he knew I was sneaking up on him in the kitchen!   Don't tell him! Auntie Abi gave my Forever Human the best cookies and truffles!  Lucky little human!    Marley has a brother named Cooper.  Cooper was barking and playing with other friends at their house, so I will meet him next time.

Can you see our dirty tongues?!

I had so much fun in the city!   While walking to our car - I met some nice people.  They were ewwwing and awwwwing over me.  I wagged my tail and they kept giving me lovin.  I followed cousin Marley on a walk.  He walks very proud...and people stop in their tracks to look at him.  I think he's the President or something like that.

 Just for human consumption.  geez.
 Pack Leader.
Auntie Abi & Uncle Michael with me and Marley

*no humans were harmed while taking these photos

Well, Pack Leader said it's time for a walk!

Keep on wagging!

Meet Vanilla ~ featured pet friend

This is my neighbor and friend Vanilla!   My Forever Human calls her "French Vanilla Muffin", because my funny little human loves French vanilla muffins from Wegmans!   that's a plug for Wegmans

Vanilla was adopted last March by a couple - who just happen to be teachers.  I call her humans "Road Warrior Human" because he likes my name "Sea Warrior" - BOL - and "Mrs. Biz Teacher" because she is a business teacher at a local high school.

Vanilla and I went for a walk together and boy, oh boy do her little legs go fast!   I wasn't sure if she was just trying to get away from me or show off!   It's like those humans who do the power walks in the morning on the trail.  She's super fast!   Maybe she had on tiny little rollerblades attached to her teeny tiny paws?!

Vanilla likes to have her tummy rubbed by her humans.  She also enjoys playing a game of chase around the house.  I heard from a little bird that Vanilla likes to wait for food to fall on the floor and sneak a quick snack!   Because she's so quick on her feet and small....her humans probably can't hear her coming.  Like Sassy Cat!
Most of all, Vanilla loves to cuddle with her humans.

I do believe Vanilla that your stuffed bone is bigger than your pretty little head!
I'm so happy Vanilla has a forever home.  She is surrounded by so much love and gets all the attention we doggies deserve!    Way to go Vanilla!!!

Can't wait to walk or skate on the trail with you Vanilla!!!
Thanks for being my furfriend!

Day #3 Quote *

Hello again!   It's me Murphy...but you probably figured that out already!

Today is day three to post a quote.   But not before I tell you about my adventure while taking my morning stroll [as my humans call it] this morning.
I found a pack of middle school boys walking to school and they stopped to say hello to me.  so okay,  I pulled a little on my leash to get to them as Pack Leader had me sit and wait.  Geez, again.
The one boy who had a smile full of braces loved on me and said I was sooooo cute!   He laughed because I had a big stick in my mouth and I never put it down even with all his attention!  There was one boy who said "I don't like dogs"....and shiny smiley boy said "dude, why not?"!  My ears perked up when I heard this.....like why wouldn't he like me....Murphy?!   I wiggled my way over to the other boys and then they needed to keep walking so they wouldn't be late for school.   I want to go to school!  What's school?!    My Forever Human goes in the morning and she likes school - a lot- so I think I will too!

*no humans were injured during this photo shoot

Here is my quote:
Spread love everywhere you go.  Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier ~ Mother Teresa

Happy Friday!!

Day 2 of Quotes

It's day 2 of my tagged you're it for Quote of the Day.

I went to visit my Love Giver at his office this afternoon and gee-whilly it's windy out there....even for me....Murphy!   It's good my Pack Leader had me on a leash or I would have been blowing around with all the flags that were flapping up high!   And speaking of flags....I didn't really like them today.   Guess it's because I couldn't smell them.....or figure out why they seemed so angry.   And they were very bright and pretty flags....but very angry bright and pretty flags.

My humans took me for a walk around the courtyard where I could see men working on a very big building.   It's going to be a parking garage where humans put their cans on wheels during the day while they shop, work, eat or go to the movies.   Funny, I like to play, eat, sleep and poop!

Here is my quote of the day:

The Language of Friendship is not Words but Meanings -   Henry David Thoreau

Until next time!

Scottish Quotes & Tag You're It!

I've just been tailed....I mean tagged!   I'm just so excited I can't stop chasing my tail!

My new blog friend Lucky Collie  [ http://luckycollie.blogspot.com ] just tagged me to participate in a fun blog post!

Now, let's see if Pack Leader can get this correctly posted!   Cross your paws.

Since Golden Retrievers are originally from Scotland....I thought it would only be appropriate to post a great Scottish quote.

No, that kilted bagpiper is not me....but how much fun would that be?!

So today, I would like to send you this blessing that in some ways should be my quote each and every day!    BOL!

I'm tagging Chewy the Golden Retriever!

Happy Monday!

I say Happy Monday because everyday is a happy day for me....Murphy!

This morning my Pack Leader took me for another stroll around the nature preserve.  I'm learning to "leave it" when it comes to the ducks.  My Pack Leader doesn't want a hefty fine, as she puts it....so I just figure that I'll allow the Mallard family and the Canadian Geese family alone....but their poop....now that's a totally different quacker!    Which like those secret kitty krunchies....goose droppings are forbidden.     It's like having my own Duck Dynasty!!

My Pack Leader has been instructing me to "drop" whenever I vacuum something off the ground, which is pretty much everything my nose finds!   Today, it was a band aid, a rotten banana peel, and someone's pretty glove they left behind on the park bench.
I'm still learning!    I really come running like the bull in a fine China shop when my humans call out "puppy-puppy-puppy"!    I'll work for treats and all the affection you can give me!

I still love watching those super big and loud birds soar in the sky.....you would think after seeing them on a daily basis I wouldn't be so surprised when they fly over our house anymore.  But I am!
It's fun living so close to an International airport!
I've been socializing with other humans too!   They kiss me and tell me how soft I am.   Today there was this very nice human working on trees....and I was soooooo excited because he had a lot of sticks!   So I offered to help him and carry one to his work truck, which I passed and continued carrying the big stick around the boardwalk!   What fun it is to carry sticks!

I also learned that stink bugs are forbidden in the house.  Those stinky bugs are fun to scare my Pack Leader with!   Like I said.....anything goes!   in my mouth.

Wednesday I go back to visit my friend Dr. B.   He's going to give me more shots.   I don't mind, as long as someone is kissing my head while the needle pinches me!   I'll get weighed and measured too.  My girth is shrinking...but I still love to eat!   My puppy fuzz is disappearing too.   Pack Leader has a fun friend from NYC who I call NYC Lady.   She calls me "Fluffanutter".
Wait until she see's me again on Thursday.....my fluff is almost nuttered!     BOL!

Well, it's time for yet another nap.     Oh, the life of a Golden pup.

Murphy

Hello!  My name is Golden Glory Sea Warrior Murphy!   But you can call me Murphy.  I have been in my new home now for twelve days!  I love my new home!
I live with a very sassy cat that I call "Sassy Cat".  She's very clever, but not as clever as me!   I know her tricks.....even though she tries to outwit me.  I also live with my humans.  There is my "Forever Human" that I love so much! She's the smallest of my humans.  I call her this because she whispers in my ear "I'll love you forever".
Then there is the "Scholar".  She's in college and sometimes I hear her on the phone using words like "physics" and "biochemerastry" something like that.  And I also have two other humans which I like to call "Pack Leader" and "Love Giver".   My "Pack Leader" has all these rules.  She's quite firm on those rules too!  I can't even enjoy a "kitty krunchie"!   I have no idea what they even are!   All I know is these forbidden krunchies are behind a secret door that I watch Sassy Cat go in and out.   One of these days...when the Pack Leader isn't looking.....I'm going to....ssshhhh.
My "Love Giver" gives me the biggest hugs in the morning as he drinks his coffee.  He lifts me up high in his strong arms and I can see all over the world!  I can see the Nations Capitol!  I think.

About me:
I'm a Golden Retriever!
My name Murphy is Celtic for warrior of the sea.  I am a very brave girl!
My favorite toy is my hedgehog and I nap with him too!
I love sticks!  I actually have a collection that my humans keep by our front door.
I love the snow!
I love going for walks and playing with my humans!   Especially my Forever Human.
I love people....I like them best when they are paying attention to me!

Come along on my adventures as I meet new friends, visit my Golden Glory family members, and explore the world!       You'll be sure to laugh or even bark out loud!

Until next time!

Woofs,
Murphy
